Job description
Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will work on-site in Greenville, SC in a full-time capacity, contributing to the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems and equipment used in pilot plants and specialized process operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing mechanical designs, performing calculations, preparing detailed CAD drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and safety. The role involves supporting research and development activities, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and optimizing existing equipment and processes for performance and reliability. The Mechanical Engineer will also assist with project planning, documentation, and coordination with vendors and fabrication partners to ensure timely and accurate implementation of engineering solutions.
Division of duties:

CAD, BOM, and drawing package development – 40%

ASME code calculations, structural analysis, thermal analysis – 40%

Project management, customer communication, team coordination – 20%

Bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from an ABET accredited US school.

Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, etc.

Ability to work with large 3D modeling assemblies requiring variable levels of detail.

Ability to perform in-depth structural, thermal, and fluid calculations to support design decisions.

Proficient in static structural and thermal analysis using Inventor/SolidWorks.

Ability to work onsite in Greeneville, SC.

Ability to work in a small, multi-disciplinary, team in a hands-on Research and Development (R&D) environment.

Exposure to Project Management.

Must be able to communicate with clients.

Ability to travel to client sites up to 10%.

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export-controlled programs.

Have a current US Passport and US driver's license.

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen for initial hiring.
Desirable qualifications:

Current Engineer-in-Training or EI certificate with plans to get Professional Engineer license

Experience with ASME B31 and BPVC code calculations using Excel, hand calculations, and common tools.

Experience with designing equipment to handle hazardous materials such as flammables, toxics and water reactive.

Experience designing skids, frames, pressure piping, and pressure vessels
