Frontend Engineer Jobs: common questions
- Which frontend frameworks are employers hiring for?
- React is named in the clear majority of current frontend postings, with TypeScript now effectively assumed alongside it; Vue and Angular hold steady niches, mostly in enterprise stacks. If a posting names its framework, mirror that exact term — 'React' in the posting and 'built SPAs' on your resume don't match in an ATS screen.
- Do frontend roles need a portfolio or is a resume enough?
- For frontend specifically, shipped interfaces are the strongest evidence — live projects with real interactions outrank certificate lists. But the resume still gets you to the human: most of these employers screen with software first, so the resume needs the posting's stack terms before anyone clicks your portfolio link.
